Vancouver, BC, July 19, 2004 - Dynasty Metals & Mining Inc. (TSXV: DMM; the "Company") is very pleased to announce that it has confirmed the existence of a copper-gold porphyry prospect at Copper Ridge, which is situated within the Company's Dynasty Project in southern Ecuador.
A United Nations soil survey conducted in the area for base metals in the 1970s along a 50m x 100m spaced grid identified coincident copper and molybdenum anomalies with sample values ranging from 200 ppm to 6800 ppm copper and 5 ppm to 50 ppm molybdenum. In addition, seven rock samples taken from within these anomalies produced values ranging from 0.3% to 4.2% copper and 5 ppm to 40 ppm molybdenum.
Recent geological traverses conducted by the Company have confirmed the existence of a 1.4 km X 1.2 km porphyry with associated stockworks and epithermal breccias directly below the soil anomalies sampled by the United Nations. In addition, visible gold in recent panned-off simples, taken from six streams approximately one kilometre apart and draining from both sides of the ridge, have confirmed gold mineralization in the area.
The Copper Ridge Porphyry Prospect is located 22 kilometres southwest of the Company's Cerro Blanco Porphyry Prospect and is one of five copper-gold porphyry prospects identified by the Company within a 60 km X 10 km mineralized structural corridor that forms the Company's 100% owned Dynasty Project.
Exploration of the Company's properties is under the supervision of Greg Whitfield, the Company's Exploration Manager and a "qualified person" as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Whitfield is responsible for the preparation of technical information in this News Release. Samples are sealed on the property and shipped to the BSI Inspectorate laboratory in Lima, Peru for preparation and gold fire assay. Sample pulps are shipped by BSI Inspectorate to its laboratory in Reno, Nevada for silver fire assay and multi-element ICP analysis.
